Atmospheric Environment

The main responsibilities of the Department of Atmospheric Environment include air quality management planning, management of stationary pollution sources, management of mobile pollution sources, management of fugitive pollution sources, noise and vibration control, and indoor air quality management.

Due to numerous sources of air pollution, the Ministry of Environment has adopted diverse measures for air pollution improvement to enhance air quality. The National Air Pollution improvement implementation plan has been developed to reduce PM2.5 concentrations, improve ozone levels, decrease pollutant emissions, and align with the goal of achieving net-zero emissions. This plan also promotes low-pollution transportation and source control for renewable fuels.
