Since 1995, Taiwan's environmental authorities have promoted the establishment of Air Quality Purification Zones through tree planting and greening on public lands, providing multiple benefits, including air purification through vegetation, environmental regulation, and improved quality of life. Building on these efforts, the Ministry of Environment (MOENV) is focusing on enhancing the functions of existing zones and strengthening their maintenance and management. Through improvements in planting design, the selection of suitable plant species for local conditions, and corporate adoption programs, the Ministry aims to enhance the environmental quality of green spaces. By progressively connecting surrounding green resources and fostering a broader network of urban green spaces, these efforts seek to maximize the overall environmental benefits of vegetation, improve air quality, and advance environmental sustainability.
