Introduction to the NERA

line sharePrint Content

The National Environmental Research Academy (NERA) was established on August 22, 2023. It was formed through the integration and reorganization of the Environmental Analysis Laboratory (EAL) and the Environmental Professionals Training Institute (EPTI) under the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA).

In addition to supporting the environmental policies of the Ministry of Environment and other affiliated agencies, the NERA is responsible for environmental testing, environmental professional personnel training, environmental education, and certification services. Furthermore, it addresses emerging ecological issues such as climate change and resource circulation by conducting related scientific research on climate change and environmental governance. It continues to engage in R&D of environmental technologies such as pollution prevention and environmental risk, foster talents for achieving net-zero emissions, and integrate domestic environmental research resources to establish a cooperation network for environmental research, thus serving as an environmental think tank.
