Net Zero Transition of Public Environmental Management Facilities

line sharePrint Content

To achieve Taiwan's "2050 Net-Zero Emissions Goal", the Environmental Management Administration (EMA) is promoting key strategies such as "Resource Recycling & Zero Waste", "Green Lifestyle", and "Carbon Capture, Utilization & Storage (CCUS)" to reduce greenhouse gas emissions from public environmental management facilities and achieve the vision of net-zero transition.

The Environmental Management Administration, as the authority responsible for general waste management policies and regulations, takes a holistic approach to planning greenhouse gas reduction measures throughout the entire process of available waste collection, transportation, management, and final disposal. The EMA assists public waste management facilities in conducting greenhouse gas inventories to identify emission sources and quantities, enhancing their capacity for independent carbon management, identifying key decarbonization factors, implementing appropriate decarbonization measures, and introducing carbon-negative technologies.
