Levy of Water Pollution Control Fees

line sharePrint Content

The levy of water pollution control fees was introduced in several phases. Phase 1 (2015) levied fees on Special Purpose Sewers for enterprises (excluding livestock industry) and industrial parks. Phase 2 (2017) applied to the livestock industry, and Phase 3 (2019) levied fees on other designated areas or locations with Special Purpose Sewers.

The aforementioned water pollution control fees on enterprise and sewage systems are collected by the central competent authority (MOENV). Local governments collect water pollution control fees from "households that are located in the sewage system zones announced in accordance with the Sewerage Law and fail to discharge sewage into sewage systems," or household water pollution control fees.
